Hairpin lace

My mother made this shawll many many years ago, and she told me that she got that little needle, at the beggining I thought that it was kind of knitte but not this works with crochet, here you can see a video how it works, any way I will try to make some tutorial to show how to make the daysies too. The only thing is the material I will try to find out what kind of material is this I found some resourses here and here but I'm going to continue with my research.

This shawl is actually made with a combination of hairpin lace for the long snake like pattern and daisy wheels for the circular sections. They have then been combined with a crochet hook to make the woven garment you see in the picture. It is truely beautiful, and very imaginative as well.
